Objective: To explore furthers on the problems arise in the alterations of hand functions in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients with and without Dibetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) Methods: Prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients with and without Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy(DPN) are increasing tremendously worldwide. Literatures are revealed that DM patients exhibited significant impairments of sensorimotor of upper and lower extremities following deterioration of glucose metabolism under hypergylacemia state. Results: Various research have showed that the DM also cause impairments of the hand knowns as diabetes hand syndrome.DM patients with and without DPN have presented with significant alterations of hand functions involving sensorimotor function,joint mobility, muscle strength and manual dexterity that may effect the ADL (activity Daily living). Conclusion: To date, there is no comprehensive study of the mechanism involved in the alterations of the hand functions in DM patients has been published.
