The Purpose of this study was to examine the aerobic and anaerobic threshold of weight-class contestans for exercise prescription.
The number of experimental subjects were 60: weight-class contestants were 24(Taekwondo 8, Wrestling 8, Boxing 8,) long distance runners were 20, and non-athletes were 16.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. Under the condition of maximal exercise test
1) The mean of VO₂max and VO₂㎖/㎏/min of weight-class contestants were 5.1 ℓ/min and 82.4㎖/㎏/min.
2) The mean of HRmax was 210.0bpm.
3) The mean of BF was 70.0bpm.
4) The mean of O₂ pulse was 25.2㎖/beat.
2. Under the condition of anaerobic threshold
1) The means of AT-VO₂max, AT-VO₂㎖/㎏/min, and AT-VO₂ max were 3.9 ℓ/min, 59.3㎖/㎏/min, and 76.7%.
2) The mean of AT-HR and AT-%HRmax were 186.7bpm and 88.8%.
3) AT-O₂ pulse was 19.0㎖/beat.
4) AT-time was 18.8 minutes.
3. Aerobic and anaerbic capacity was no significant difference among the weight-class contestans.
4. Weight-class contestants was inferior to middle and long distance runners in aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
