The graft survival rate is determined by the complex action of various factors. Of these, there are no studies or cases of local bleeding and graft survival after transplantation. A 49-year-old man visited the dermatology clinic for hair transplantation consultation with male pattern baldness. he was taking warfarin for atrial fibrillation. The preoperative blood test showed elevated prothrombin time and international normalized ratio. Other laboratory tests including platelet aggregation test, platelet count and activated partial thromboplastin time showed normal results. The patient took warfarin until the day before surgery. A total 3508 hairs were transplanted into the frontal and parietal region using implanter. In 3 hrs after surgery, bleeding along the graft site of hair follicle 2-3 sites of the frontal graft area started and continued overnight. Warfarin was stopped. Wound care was performed using isotonic normal saline so that the graft was not damaged as much as possible. One year after the surgery, the newly grown hair was found to be healthy on the scalp and more than 90% of the transplanted hair was implanted well. We report here on the survival of transplanted hair after excessive and continuous local bleeding on the hair transplanted site.
