이 글은 토박이 화자들이 일상생활에서 사용하는 방언 가운데 아직 학계에 소개되지 않은 것들을 새로 발굴하여 소개하는 열일곱 번째 연재물이다. 여기에 소개된 어휘들은 화자들이 일상생활에서 사용하고 있지만 사전에 등재되어 있지 않아 소멸될 위기에 놓여 있는 것들이다. 여기에서는 충청도, 전라도, 제주도의 방언 어휘를 각각 세 개씩 모두 아홉 개를 소개하였다. 충청도의 방언 어휘는 말(소리)의 민간 명칭과 소를 부리는 말 그리고 돼지의 부분 명칭과 관련된 어휘 세 개가 소개되었고, 전라도의 방언 어휘는 벼농사와 관련된 말과 말(소리)의 민간 명칭 그리고 생활 도구 이름 등 세 개가 소개되었다. 제주도의 방언 어휘는 일상생활에서 사용하는 도구와 관련된 이름 두 개와 토속음식에 관한 어휘 하나가 소개되었다. 여기에 소개된 아홉 개의 방언 어휘들은 모두 사전에는 등재되어 있지 않지만 조사 지역에서는 자주 사용하는 일상어라는 점에서 의미 있는 것들이다. 앞으로도 지속적으로 새로운 방언 어휘들을 발굴하고 소개하는 작업이 이어진다면 국어 어휘가 더욱 풍부해지게 될 것이다. 이 글에서 소개하는 방언 어휘들이 사용되는 지역이라고 표시한 지역 외의 지역에서도 사용될 수 있고 방언의 형태가 다를 수도 있다는 점에 유의해야 한다. 그리고 어휘 형태는 같더라도 의미 내항이 다를 수 있다는 점을 고려하여 방언 어휘들을 체계적으로 조사하여 정밀하게 기술하는 작업도 병행되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate the new dialect words that are used in a regional dialect in Korea. Nine dialect words are introduced in this paper. This nine dialect words are all the important linguistic material from the lexical and cultural point of view. This dialect words were recorded from native speaker's daily dialogue or dictation. This dialects include three new words in Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do and Cheju-do dialect respectively. Chungcheong-do dialect words were written by Park Kyeongrae(Semyung University). Two words relate with a folk name which one relate with the speech and behavior, another one relate with the portion of Pig. And last one words relate with the cow handling. Jeolla-do dialect words were written by Lee Kigap(Mokpho National University). One word relate with the rice farming, another one relate with folk name for the speech and behavior and the other one relate with household items. Cheju-do dialect words were written by Kang Youngbong(Cheju University). Twoe words are all related with household items and one relate with the native local foods. We set out the standard word corresponds to dialect, a part of speech, a definition of the dialect word, a diversity forms of the each dialect word, related area, illustrative sentences and explanation to each dialect word. We can find through this work that the new dialect words makes significant contribution to study of the dialect. And the new dialect words enrich our vocabulary.
