본 연구는 부모의 성인애착과 양육 행동 간의 관계에서 정신화의 매개 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 251명의 유아를 자녀로 둔 부모를 연구 대상으로 하였고, 연구 변인들은 질문지를 통해 부모보고로 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS for windows 22.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 하였고, 매개 효과를 알아보기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 매개 효과 검증절차를 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 불안정한 성인애착은 부정적 양육 행동(거부/통제, 과보호)에 정적 영향력이 유의했고, 긍정적 양육 행동(애정, 일관성, 독립성 지향)에 부적 영향력이 유의했다. 둘째, 부모의 불안정한 성인애착은 정신화에 부적영향력이 유의했다. 셋째, 부모의 정신화는 성인 애착과 양육 행동 간의 관계에서 매개적 역할을 하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 부모의 양육 행동에 영향을 미치는 부모의 성인애착과 정신화의 중요성을 확인하였고, 긍정적 양육 행동을 위하여 정신화에 대한 개입이 필요하다는 이론적 근거를 정립하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study is to examine the mediating effects of the mentalization on the relationship between parental adult attachment and parenting behavior. 251 infant’s parents were included in the study. Study variables were collected by means of survey responses from parents. The collected data were subjected to correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program, and the mediator effect validation procedure proposed by Baron and Kenny(1986) was used to examine the mediating effects. The study revealed the following results: First, A unstable attachment of parents had a positive influence on negative parenting behavior and a negative influence on positive parenting. Second, A unstable attachment of parents had a negative influence on mentalization. Third, parents’ mentalization exerted mediating role in the relationship between parental adult attachment and parenting behavior. Thus, This study confirmed the importance of parents’ adult attachment and mentalization that influence parenting behavior. Furthermore, it established a theoretical basis that intervention for mentalization is necessary for positive parenting behavior.
