본 연구는 국내에서 잘 알려지지 않은 새로운 놀이치료 방법인 자연기반 아동중심 놀이치료를 소개하고 국내 놀이치료 현장에의 적용을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하는 탐색적 연구다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 인간의 신체 및 정서 등의 영역에 대하여 자연환경이 주는 이로움을 놀이치료에 적용하게 된 배경을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 국외 연구 동향을 소개함으로써 자연기반 놀이치료에 대한 이해를 돕고자 하였다. 셋째, 자연기반 놀이치료의 정의 및 실제적인 상담방법을 전통적인 놀이치료와의 비교를 통해 설명하였다. 넷째, 자연기반 놀이치료의 이해를 돕기 위해 적용사례를 살펴보았으며 마지막으로 국내 놀이치료현장에 대한 자연기반 놀이치료의 적용 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구는 자연기반 놀이치료를 국내에 소개하고 국내 도입을 위한 후속연구의 기초자료를 제공하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

The purposes of this study are 1) to introduce Nature-Based Child-Centered Play Therapy (NBCCPT) to the play therapy community in the Republic of Korea (ROK) and 2) to explore the possibility of its application in the ROK. First, this paper provides a rationale for the integration of nature and child centered play therapy by addressing the benefits of nature. Second, a literature review on the topics of counseling integrating nature is presented. Third, NBCCPT applications in community-based and school-based settings in the United States are illustrated. Lastly, the NBCCPT possibility of applications in the ROK was explored. This study is significant in that it seeks to introduce this innovative play therapy approach to the ROK and discusses the possibility of its application.
