Objective: Study aims to survey a spread and risk factors of diabets among shift working nurses.
Methods: The data was collected from 528 nurses of 23 hospitals nurses who work in UB and local hospitals. Cross sectional data, including blood sampling and questionnaires were collected in healthy survey. Data processed by SPSS 22.0 statistic program.
Results: Overall, 8% of participants who work for night shift and 7.2% of day working nurses are smokers (p < 0.0001). 3.2% of shift working nurses and 3.8% day time working nurses use over dose of alcohol (p < 0.0001). The shift working nurses and the day time working nurses and compared their BMI overweight 39.7% and 43.9%, obesity 18.2% and 19.7%, central obesity 60.6% and 65.5%, body fat percentages are 70.8% and 73.9%, internal fat level are 34.1% and 36.7% (p < 0.02). Nurses who have HTN level I and II are from 20.4% are from central region, 25.4% from Kangai region, west region nurses 22.4%, east region 37.5% and from UB 15.3% (p < 0.022).
Conclusion: 24.2% of shift working nurses have HTN is showed that higher than day working nurses. Hypertension is directly related such as overweight, obesity, lack of movement, pernicious habits and sugar level increase.
