The main purpose of this study was to examine the perspectives on elementary school teachers' school-based culture and arts education in Korea. A total of 924 elementary school teachers (male=192, female=732) completed an open-ended questionnaire developed by the researchers. For teachers, the most efficient teaching strategies on arts education in school were related to teaching by arts specialists and enhancing expertise, followed by improvement of teaching-learning situation. In after-school arts-related activity, the most important reforms were related to teachers' overload on sundry duties and no discretion(23.01%). In terms of activating school-based arts program in elementary school, the most important plan for a reform were in exclusive responsibility of a subject(42.33%) and improvement of school facilities(14.47%).
