이 연구의 목적은 아마추어 스포츠 심판의 비리현상에 관한 실증적이고 심층적인 분석을 통해 스포츠 심판의 정상화 과정을 밝히는데 있다. 이를 위해 경험적 자료들로부터 이론을 도출해 내는 근거이론적 접근방법을 사용하였다. 이에 이론적 표본추출을 적용하여 태권도, 농구, 리듬체조, 펜싱, 승마 등의 관련자 14명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였고, 인터뷰를 주요 자료로 활용하였다. 수집된 자료들은 근거이론 분석방법인 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩의 과정을 거쳐 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 개방코딩을 통해 총 91개의 개념, 하위범주 19개 상위범주 6개를 도출하였다. 둘째, 축코딩을 통해 인과적 조건, 상황적 맥락, 중심현상, 중재적 조건, 상호작용 전략, 결과의 6가지 패러다임 요소를 발견하고 범주들 간의 관계를 규명하였다. 셋째, 선택코딩을 통해 핵심범주인 ‘스포츠 심판의 정상화’를 도출하고 전체적인 이야기 윤곽을 통해 정상화 과정을 밝히고 실체이론을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of normalization of sports through the empirical and in-depth analysis of the amateur sports referee corruption phenomenon. In order to do this, a grounded theory approach, which derives theories from empirical data, was adopted. To accomplish the purpose of this study, the intentional sampling method was applied and 14 including people from taekwondo, basketball, gymnastics, fencing, horse riding, etc. were selected. The data collected from the participants was processed through the open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, which are analysis methods of the grounded theory method, and the results were as followings. First, through the open coding, a total of 91 concepts, 19 sub-categories, and 6 top categories were made. Second, via the axial coding, 6 elements of paradigm, the causal conditions, the situational context, the central phenomena, intervening conditions, interaction strategies, and the consequences, were discovered and the relationship between the categories were investigated. Third, through the selective coding ‘the sports referee normalization process’ and says the normalization process through the whole story outline proposed a theory of reality.
