본 연구는 한국의 여성 스포츠 셀러브리티에 대한 미디어의 기사 형태와 내용이 논조 성향이 다른 언론사들에 따라 어떻게 다르게 나타나고 있는가를 비교분석하였다. 미디어 내용분석을 적용하여 연구를 수행하였으며 2008년 12월부터 2012년 9월까지 국내 주요 신문사(조선일보, 동아일보, 한겨레신문)에 보도된 기사를 연구의 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 자료 수집시 ‘손연재’를 검색키워드로 입력하여 조선일보 아카이브 및 기사검색사이트(KINDS)를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였으며 이를 통해 수집된 기사는 총 194건이었다. 이에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 신문사별 손연재에 관한 신문기사의 보도형태는 전반적으로 피처기사를 통해 보도되어지는 특징을 보였으며, 신문사에 따라 기사형태에 대한 분할의 형평성은 다르게 나타났다. 둘째, 신문사별 손연재에 관한 신문기사의 보도내용은 전체적으로 경기관련 보도내용이 강세를 보였으나, 신문사별로 내용 기재의 비율은 다르게 나타났다. 조선일보와 동아일보는 경기관련과 비경기관련 내용비율이 양분화 되는 경향을 보여주었으며, 한겨레신문의 경우 경기관련 내용비율에 편중되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the style and content of newspaper articles on a woman sports celebrity, Yeonjae Son, by three major daily newspapers, Chosun Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo and Hankyoreh. Drawing upon media content analysis, 194 articles on Yeonjae Son between December 2008 and September 2012 were collected from Chosun Ilbo Archive and the KINDS. The findings of this study indicated that first, most frequent article style on Yeonjae Son was feature-style, but the number of article style was different by newspapers, and second, article content of newspapers focused primarily on performance of Yeonjae Son. Choson Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo showed a similar rate of articles between non-performance such and performance while Hankyoreh reported more articles about performance than those of two different newspapers.
