Purpose: This study was to identify the relationship with the life stress, self-esteem and resilience of university students.
Methods: The data was collected from 470 students at 3 universities in metropolitan B City. Subjects completed the following questionnaires: life stress, self-esteem and resilience. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 18.0 program.
Results: The mean scores of life stress, self-esteem and resilience were 2.71±0.59, 2.65±0.23 and 4.70±0.68, respectively. There was a significant negative correlations that could be seen in self-esteem (r=-.48, p=<.001) as well as resilience (r=-.40, p=<.001) in relation to life stress. The variables of resilience in university Students self-esteem and health state, resilience of university Students which explained 36.3% of the cases.
Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a nursing intervention program for reducing life stress and increasing self-esteem and resilience of university students. The program should be considered the characteristics of self-esteem and health state In order to increase resilience of university students.
