The US decision to abandon INF Treaty is a signal for intensifying hegemonic rivalry between US and China. The majority of Chinese capability is focused on short·medium range INF. The US can choose to deploy INF in North-East Asia but US is likely to pursue a new INF treaty based on the lessons learned from the previous INF treaty with the Soviet Union. The original INF Treaty was a product of a successful ‘dual-track decision’.
