본 연구는 2005년 동료들의 시신을 수습하기 위한 휴먼원정대의 실화를 바탕으로 재구성된 영화 < 히말라야 >를 대상으로 영화의 전체적인 서사구조를 파악하고 영화를 통해 나타나는 주체들 간의 의미 작용체계와 함축적 의미를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기호학적 접근방법인 통합체 분석, 계열체 분석, 신화분석 방법을 이용하여 분석을 실시하였으며 분석방법에 따라 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합체 분석을 통해 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 서사적 흐름을 범주화 하였다. 서사의 전개과정은 발단, 전개, 절정, 결말의 시간 순 배열을 가지고 있으며 주요 국면에 따른 구체적 전개구조는 발단 2가지 구성단위, 전개 4가지 구성단위, 절정 3가지 구성단위, 결말 2가지의 구성단위로 총 11가지 구성단위로 이루어져 있다. 둘째, 서사구조에 기인한 각각의 주체들의 관계인 이항대립구조를 살펴보기 위하여 계열체 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 인간과 자연의 대립구조, 산악인과 가족의 대립구조, 등반대장과 등반대원의 대립구조가 존재하였다. 셋째, 신화와 함축적 의미를 도출하기 위해 신화분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 영웅신화에 내재된 경쟁과 휴머니즘이 결합된 영웅주의, 자본주의 신화에 내재된 등반과 자본, 신념 간 관계 속의 상업주의, 권력신화에 내재된 권력적 위계질서에 따른 권위주의로 나타났다.

This study analyzes the movie < The Himalayas > reconstructed based on the appearance of a human expedition to rectify the bodies of colleagues in 2005. The purpose of this context is to determine the structure of meaning creation in the movie and signification between the system and the implications of the emergence subject. In this study, syntagmatic analysis, paradigmatic analysis, and mythical analysis were tried to analyze. The derived results are as follows. Firstly, as the result of syntagmatic analysis, The development of the narrative is inception, expansion, peak and ending. It has a chronological arrangement. Secondly, as the result of paradigmatic analysis, there are the relationship between man and nature, between the climber and family relationships, and between the captain and climbing crew. Lastly, myth analysis was conducted to find implications based on the outcomes. As a result, heroism combined competition and humanism was inherent in the myth of hero. Also, commercialism in the relationship between climbing, capital and belief was inherent in the myth of capitalism. Lastly, authoritarianism caused by powerful hierarchy was inherent in the myth of power.
