본 연구는 스쿠버 다이빙 예비지도자들이 앞으로 어떻게 교육생들을 교육하고 지도해 나가야 할 것인지 교육의 방향과 내용을 개선하기 위해 지도자 교육과정에 참가한 예비지도자들이 교육실습을 통하여 얻어진 경험과 의미를 내러티브 탐구 방법을 통해 이해하고자 하였다. 연구를 위한 자료 수집은 연구참여자의 교육일지, 다이빙 로그북(Diving logbook), 대화, 비 구조화된 인터뷰 등을 통해 이루어졌다. 연구의 타당성을 높이기 위해 동료 연구자들과 수차례 세미나를 통해 내러티브 텍스트를 교차 분석하였으며, 내러티브 방법론 전공자에게 자문을 받아 최종 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 교육실습 경험 과정을 시간성 차원을 고려하여 지도자 교육과정의 초기 단계, 적응 단계, 반성 단계로 나누어 시기별로 예비지도자가 경험한 주요한 주제를 포착하고자 하였다. 초기 단계에서는 지도자 교육과정 준비, 지도자 교육과정 파악, 선배 지도자에게 조언 구하기 등으로 나타났다. 적응 단계에서는 지도자과정 입문을 통한 다양한 지도환경 경험, 예비 지도자의 교육십습 개선 노력, 이론과 교육현장의 괴리감, 예비 지도자들 간의 상호작용 증대 노력 등으로 나타났다. 반성 단계에서는 지도자의 꿈을 향하여, 교육생이 신뢰하고 노력하는 지도자되기 등으로 나타났다.

This research attempted to understand the experiences and the meaning that the preliminary leaders, who participated in the instructors training courses in order to improve the direction and contents of the education with regard to how preliminary scuba diving leaders should educate the trainees, obtained through practice teaching through the narrative exploration method. The data for this research were collected through the research participants’ training daily records, diving logbook, dialogues, and unstructured interviews. In order to raise the validity of the research, the cross analysis was conducted on the narrative texts through seminars on several occasions together with the co-researchers and the final analysis was conducted in consultation with those who majored in the narrative methodology. This research attempted to grasp the major subjects that the preliminary leaders experienced in the early stage, the adaptation stage, and the introspection stage in the practice teaching experience process in consideration of time dimension. In the early stage, they were found to be preparations for the instructors training courses, the identification of the instructors training courses, and seeking advice from senior leaders. In the adaptation stage, they were found to be the experience of diverse teaching environment through introduction to the instructors training course, the preliminary leaders’ efforts to improve practice teaching, the gap between the theories and the educational filed, and the preliminary leaders’ efforts to increase the interaction among the preliminary leaders. In the introspection stage, they were found to be to become leaders whom the trainees trust and who are making efforts toward the dream of becoming such leaders, etc.
