본 연구의 목적은 첫 발령 3년 이내의 중등학교 초임체육교사가 지니고 있는 이상적인 체육 수업관과 실제 수업현장에서 나타나고 있는 수업지식 측면을 심도 있게 파악해 봄으로써 초임체육교사의 수업능력과 중등학교 체육수업현장을 재조명 해 보는데 있다. 6명의 연구 참여자를 대상으로 심층면담, 참여관찰, 문서 수집 등의 방법을 이용하여 자료를 수집하였고, 자료 분석은 원자료 전사, 주제별 약호화, 주제 의미생성 단계로 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 중등학교 초임체육교사들의 수업관은 학생의 흥미를 가장 중심적으로 인식하였으며, 이는 수업의 전 단계에 걸쳐 매우 중요한 요소로 작용하면서 영향을 주었다. 수업지식에서는 자신이 생각하는 이상적인 수업관을 답습하려는 경향과 경험부족 등으로 인해 수업에서 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 따라서 중등학교 초임체육교사들은 동료교사 및 경력교사 간에 서로 긴밀한 관계를 통하여 수업 현장에서 경험하고 있는 어려움의 간격을 좁히고, 아울러 초임체육교사와 경력교사간의 멘토링 같은 제도적인 조치가 뒷받침 되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how secondary novice physical education teachers perceive view of teaching physical education and pedagogical content knowledge. Participants consisted of 6 secondary novice physical education teachers who were inducted as teacher within 3 years. Data were collected using interview, observation, and documents through inductive categorical technique. Results showed that secondary novice teachers perceived student interests as most important factor in teaching physical education, which influenced all stages in teaching. Also, although they applied ideal teaching to physical education, they still used teacher-centered teaching method and were in the face of difficulties due to lack of teaching experience. Secondary novice physical education teachers need a collaboration with peers and experienced teachers through mentoring program.
