본 연구는 재미한인의 골프협회 회원 활동을 통해 형성되는 사회연결망이 어떠한 형태의 사회자본을 형성하는 가를 심층적으로 분석하기 위하여 문화기술지 연구방법을 도입하여 수행하였으며, 구체적인 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 재미한인들의 골프협회 회원 활동을 통해 형성된 사회연결망은 한인들만의 골프대회 유치, 한인노인활동 지원, 한인 2세의 한글교육 지원 등을 통하여 그들의 민족정체성을 유지시켜 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 재미한인들의 골프협회 회원 활동을 통해 형성된 사회연결망은 재미한인들간에 친목을 도모함으로써 새로운 이민환경에서 받는 소외감을 잘 극복하는데 도움을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 재미한인들의 골프협회 회원 활동을 통해 형성된 사회연결망은 한인사회내에서 다양한 사회적 지위를 제공함으로써 성공적인 자아정체성을 가져다 주며, 폐쇄된 이민사회에서 주류사회로의 진출을 도와주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 재미한인들의 골프협회 회원 활동을 통해 형성된 사회연결망은 새로운 이민환경 정착에 필요한 다양한 정보교환을 할 수 있는 환경을 제공하여 주는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze relationship of social network of Korean immigrant golf association members in the United States and social capital. In order to achieve purpose of this study, research method was accepted a ethnography. The results of the study were as follows; First, social network of Korean immigrant golf association members is to maintain national identities through various services such as to held ethnic Korean golf championship, support to Korean immigrant elders, and support to teach Korean Language to Korean immigrant next generation. Second, social network of Korean immigrant golf association members is to provide promoting friendship, and to help less feel a sense of alienation in a foreign environment. Third, social network of Korean immigrant golf association members is to help getting satisfactory social status and social positions to Korean immigrant, and to intend making inroad to major society of United States. fourth, social network of Korean immigrant golf association members is to help acquiring useful information for immigrant adjustment.
