본 연구는 회화에 나타난 한국 전통 활쏘기의 특성을 규명하기 위한 목적으로, 문헌 연구와 함께 활쏘기 회화를 분석한 결과 일곱 가지의 활쏘기 특성을 규명할 수 있었으며, 이를 근거로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 수집된 활쏘기 회화를 분석한 결과 기존의 연구에서 찾을 수 없었던 한국 전통 활쏘기의 새로운 특성을 규명할 수 있었다. 따라서 후속 연구에서 새로운 관점에 따른 스포츠 회화 분석 방법 연구의 필요성이 대두된다. 둘째, 삼국시대 중 신라의 활쏘기 회화를 수집할 수 없었다. 지속적인 관심을 갖고 활쏘기 회화를 수집할 경우 한국 전통 활쏘기의 새로운 특성과 정보를 찾을 수 있으리라 사료된다. 셋째, 활쏘기회화 분석을 통한 한국 전통 활쏘기 연구 과정에서 한국인이 예부터 활쏘기를 매우 중시하고 즐겼음을 알 수 있다.

As a result of the analysis of archery paintings in tandem with investigations on the literature for the purpose of explication of characteristics of traditional Korean archery in pictures, this study has shed light on the seven features of archery, based on which I have reached the following conclusions. First, as a result of the analysis of the collected archery paintings, I was able to explicate novel properties of traditional Korean archery that had not been found from the existing studies. Thus, subsequent studies are needed to find a way to analyze sports paintings from the new perspective. Second, I was not able to collect archery paintings in Silla, one of the Three States. I believe that we can find out noble characteristics and information of traditional Korean archery if we continue to collect archery paintings with constant interest. Third, I was able to realize, through the investigation of traditional Korean archery through the analysis of archery paintings, that Koreans have put much importance on and enjoyed archery from the past.
