본 연구는 6개월간의 심상훈련을 실시하고 난 후 CSAI-2의 하부요인인 인지불안, 신체불안, 자신감이 운동수행에 미치는 효과를 규명하는데 있다. 본 연구의 피험자는 K수영클럽에 소속되어 있는 고등학교에 재학중인 남자 3명과 여자 5명 총 8명의 선수들을 대상으로 하였으며 수영선수들에 맞게 심상훈련을 개발하여 6개월간의 훈련기간동안 사전검사와 3개월 훈련 후 2차측정, 6개월 후 3차측정을 통해서 결과를 비교분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 CSAI-2의 하부요인인 인지불안, 신체불안, 자신감은 SPSS/PC 하부프로그램인 일원분산분석(ANOVA)을 이용하여 분석하였으며 유의차 발생시 사후분석을 실시하였으며 경기력에 관한 자료는 개인별로 서술분석하였다. 그 결과 CSAI-2의 하부요인인 인지불안, 신체불안은 감소한 것으로 나타난 반면에 자신감은 증가를 보였으며 경기력은 8명의 대상자 중 6명이 기록향상을 보였다. 이는 심상훈련을 통해서 시합에 대한 자신감이 향상되었기 때문인 것으로 파악된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mental trainings on competitive anxiety and siwmming performance. The subjects involved in this study were elite high school swimmers(3 male and 5 female). The subjects were instructed to include the mental training program, specially designed for swimmers by the researcher, before and after their regular practice. CSAI-2 inventory was administered 3 times to the subjects, before the implementation of the mental training program and two more times with 3-month interval. Those measures were taken 20-minutue before the competitions. The data were analyzed using one-way repeated ANOVA with three dependent variables, the scores of cognitive and somatic anxiety and confidence. The swimmers records of the subjects taken during the three competitions were compared in relation to the pattern of the change of CSAI-2 scores The results obtained from this study were: 1. The mean values of cognitive and somatic anxiety were significantly reduced, but that of confidence was increased over the 6-month mental training period. 2. Among the 8 subjects, six of them improved swimming record. In general, It can be concluded that the mental training program specially designed for swimmer had positive effects on the reduction of competition anxiety. At the same time it appears to increase the level of competitive confidence. Consequently, the low level of anxiety, complied with high level of confidence seem to have a positive influence on the swimming performance.
