본 논문은 분단 이후, 남북한에서 유통되어 온 <호랑이 이야기> 가운데 아동용 콘텐츠인 교과서, 그림책, 동화책, 만화영화에 나타난 양상을 비교하여 남북한 서사의 차이를 보여주고 통일시대를 대비하여 남북한이 공유할 수 있는 <호랑이 이야기>를 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 남한의 <호랑이 이야기>는 우직한 호랑이, 신령스러운 호랑이, 바보스러운 호랑이로 나뉠 수 있다. 이 밖에도 남한의 <호랑이 이야기>는 다양한 스펙트럼을 이루고 있다. 반면에 북한의 <호랑이 이야기>는 용맹스러운 호랑이, 일하지 않는 호랑이, 어리석은 호랑이로 나뉠 수 있다. 이 과정에서 북한이 지지하는 가치인 ‘노동’, ‘전략전술’ 등을 넣어 다양한 콘텐츠로 재생산하고 있다. 북한의 <호랑이 이야기>는 다양성보다는 한 가지 이야기에 집중하는 경향이 있다. 남북한 교과서에 공통으로 수록되어 있는 <함정에 빠진 호랑이>, <토끼의 재판>은 동일한 내용이지만 제목, 등장인물, 대화가 사뭇 다르다. 북한의 <함정에 빠진 호랑이>는 사슴, 산양, 호랑이로 모두 동물만 등장한다. 잘못한 호랑이에 대해서 사슴과 산양은 신랄하고 직설적으로 비판한다. 반면에 <토끼의 재판>에서는 나그네, 호랑이, 길, 토끼가 등장한다. 동물관계와 인간관계가 복잡하게 구성되어 있다. 호랑이가 다시 궤짝에 들어간 순간 나그네와 토끼는 길을 떠날 뿐이지 평가가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 남북한은 유사한 <호랑이 이야기>를 분단이후, 시공간의 분리를 겪으면서 어쩔 수 없는 차이를 겪게 되었다. 앞으로, 통일시대를 대비하여 남북한 아동들이 직접 <호랑이 이야기>를 만든다면 남북 공동 서사를 통해서 남북이 서로를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

This paper compares the aspects of children's contents textbooks, picture books, fairy tale books, and cartoon films among the < Tiger Stories > that have been distributed in North and South Korea since the division. The purpose is to find < Tiger Story >. The story of Tiger in South Korea can be divided into a hard tiger, a spiritual tiger, and a stupid tiger. In addition, South Korea’s Tale of Tigers has a diverse spectrum. On the other hand, North Korea's Tiger Story can be divided into courageous tigers, non-working tigers, and foolish tigers. In the process, North Korea is reproducing it with various contents, including ‘labor’ and ‘strategic tactics’ that are supported by North Korea. North Korea’s Tiger Story tends to focus on one story rather than diversity. The tigers in the trap and the trial of the rabbits, which are commonly found in textbooks between the two Koreas, are the same, but have different titles, characters, and conversations. North Korea’s Trap Tiger is a deer, goat, and tiger. Deer and goat criticize the tiger for being wrong. On the other hand, in The Trial of Rabbits, there are strangers, tigers, roads, and rabbits. Animal and human relationships are complex. As soon as the tiger enters the box again, the stranger and the rabbit leave the road, and no evaluation is made. After the division of a similar story of tigers, the two Koreas faced an inevitable difference in the separation of time and space. In the future, if the children of North and South Korea share < Tiger story > directly in preparation for the unification era, it is expected that it will help the two Koreas to understand each other.
