In May 2017, Macron in France and Moon in Korea were elected presidents in both countries. The presidential elections in both countries show that the morality and attitude of the candidates can have significant impact on the outcome of the election. Nevertheless the vision of society that each president candidate has in mind is also important because the presidential election can be considered as an act of choosing the national agenda that the President candidates symbolize. This paper aims to compare election results of France and Korea using the governance indicator. After explanation of how governance indicator was developed, status and characteristics of France and Korea are examined in comparison with other OECD member countries using the data of 1995 to 2015. Based on the analysis results of governance indicator, we help to understand how Macron and Moon could be elected presidents and how they should overcome the challenges ahead of their countries.
