축제 방문객들은 축제장에서 체험활동과 더불어 축제 방문을 기념할 수 있는 결과물을 얻고자 사진을 찍거나 기념품을 사고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 축제장을 찾은 방문객이 축제 방문의 만족도를 인식하고 방문한 축제에 대해 좀 더 오래 기억하기 위한 수단으로서 축제 기념품에 대해 착안하여 진행되었다. 특히 축제 중심소재에에 주술상징적 속신의 의미가 결합된 축제 기념품은 축제 방문객에게 만족도를 높여줄 수 있다는 것을 확인해 보고자 하였다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 삼한시대까지 그 연원을 거슬러 올라가는 역사성과 전통성을 가진 쇠부리문화를 주제로 개최되는 울산쇠부리축제를 대상으로 두두리 도깨비의 상징성과 주술성에 기반한 속신형 축제 기념품 개발의 가능성을 살펴보았다. 특히 주술상징적 의미가 내재되어 있는 속신을 활용한 축제 기념품은 축제의 상징성을 높여주고 축제 방문객의 만족도를 높여줄 수 있는 수단이 될 수 있으며, 축제 방문객들에게 축제 방문의 의의를 더욱 높여주는 매개체가 될 수 있음을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 즉, 축제 기념품은 축제의 주제와 의의를 높여줄 수 있는 수단이므로 축제의 의미와 상징이 담긴 축제 기념품에 대한 지속적 연구가 필요하다.

Festival visitors used to take a picture and buy souvenirs for memory their festival visiting. So, this study examined possibility of development festival souvenirs for festival visitors’ satisfaction and memory about their festival. Specially, this study attempted to find possibility of symbolic and magic folk-belief festival souvenirs for festival visitors. So, this study aimed at Ulsan Seoburi festival since Sam Han ancient times that has historic and traditional background. The main theme of Ulsan Seoburi festival, namely, Duduri is Doggabi(ghost) and iron-smith. Doggabi bat has meaning of symbolic and magic folk-belief of good fortune and luck, so it is possible to develop festival souvenirs. Namely, symbolic and magic belief souvenirs would be important means to festival visitors’ memory of their festival visiting. Thus, festival organizers have to attempt developing symbolic and magic folk-belief festival souvenirs for satisfying their visiting memory and securing festival financial funds. And, we need to further empirical study of festival souvenirs’ meaning and symbol.
