이 논문에서는 도래할 인공지능 시대에 시에 요청되는 윤리와 시적 정의를 사유해 보았다. 이는 궁극적으로 인공지능인문학을 위한 제언이다. 우선 이 논문에서는 ‘알파고’와 이세돌의 대국 이후 인공지능 시대 시에 대한 담론이 어떻게 전개되어 왔는지 살펴보았다. 시 쓰는 인공지능이 우리 자신과 우리가 구축한 사회에 대해 던지는 성찰적 질문과 마주해야 한다는 문제의식 아래, 인공지능 시대에 예견되는 시의 윤리와 가능성을 리처드 왓슨과 마사 누스바움의 견해를 토대로 논의하였다. 특히 이 논문에서는 패배주의에 반대하는 시의 정신을 환기하는 것과, 의미화에 완전히 포섭되지 않는 바깥의 잉여의 자리를 끊임없이 발생시키는 데서 시의 윤리와 가능성을 찾고자 했다. 또한 타자의 아픔에 공감하고 이들에게 목소리를 되돌려주는 일이야말로 시가 오랫동안 지켜왔던 정신이자 오늘날의 시가 감당해야 할 중요한 책무임을 밝히고자 했다. 인공지능과 평화롭게 공존하는 타자 존중의 사회를 만들어 가기 위해서는 창작주체로서의 시인의 노력도 중요하지만, 시 교육의 중요성, 시적 정의가 법과 제도, 정책의 모델이 되는 사회에 대한 사회적 인식의 제고와 합의 또한 중요하다.

In this paper, we examine the ethics and poetic justice requested of poetry in the coming age of artificial intelligence. This is ultimately a suggestion for Artificial Intelligence Humanities. First of all, this paper looks at the development of discourse on poetry in the age of artificial intelligence since ‘AlphaGo’. We discuss the ethics and possibilities of poetry in the age of artificial intelligence, based on the views of Richard Watson and Martha C. Nussbaum, with the critical mind that artificial intelligence developed with the purpose of writing poetry have to face reflective questions about ourselves and the society we have built. In particular, we seek to find the ethics and possibilities of poetry by invoking the spirit of poetry against defeatism, and by constantly generating a place of surplus which is not wholly occupied by semantics. In order to create a society that coexists peacefully with artificial intelligence, not only the effort of a poet as a creator but also poetry education, the enhancement of social awareness, and a consensus on a society where poetic justice is the model of law, institutions, and policies are important.
