This study sought to find out the effect of somatic-based expressive art therapy on the Traumatic self-system and Somatization of Trauma Survivors. A total of 39 research sessions were conducted for 90 minutes per session from October 20, 2017 to September 2, 2018. Further examinations were conducted on November 8, 2018, two months after the end of the somatic-based expressive art therapy, and further interview were conducted on April 16, 2019. The research target is a 38-year-old male who visited a research institute run by a researcher. The measurement tool used a traumatic Magnetic System (TSSS) scale and a Simplified Mental Health (SCL-90-R) scale. Data analysis was performed by measuring the pre, post and post scores of each scale repeatedly and comparing them The results of the study are as follows. First, the somatic-based expressive art therapy has been shown to be effective in changing trauma survivors traumatic self-system. Second, the somatic-based expressive art therapy has been shown to be effective in changing the Somatization symptoms of trauma survivors. These results suggest that early intervention of body-centered treatment is important in the psychotherapy of trauma survivors.
