With the advent of Tech-fin, various AI services have appeared in financial fields. This paper focuses on the type of wealth-management AI which learns details of financial transactions and diagnoses subsequent consumption to see if it is rational. In-depth interviews discovered that users had experiential prejudice against financial AI due to previous disappointments. Based on the interview results, which showed that financial AI can evolve into financial companionship if users’ trust is fulfilled, we propose a concept of financial AI named Genie. Genie is the digital-agent chatbot which accompanies users during actual financial transactions. This paper covers pilot-testing through prototypes of each scenario involving informational support and emotional support. The results indicated that users’ trust and self-disclosure have increased. AI provides the reasons for consumption-diagnosis. Eventually, studies will present specific directions, in the form of Explainable AI, through a financial companion. This study has great significance because there has not been much research dealing with finance in HCI.
