These days color filters are necessary in some devices. The color filters’ photo-thermal stability of pigment dispersion method has been generally used due to reproducibility. However pigment particle size has limitation to apply on method. The particle size problem due to low solubility has caused small pixels and high-contrast imaging. In this study, in order to resolve particle size we designed and synthesis of blue dyes based on dimeric triarylmethine derivatives. Synthesized triarylmethine derivatives have chromophore effect that can induce high absorption properties and solubility due to two chromophores. We found triarylmethine derivatives which have a double chromophore, improve thermal and photo stabilities and applied to a dye-based color filter.
