헤라클레이토스는 “모든 것이 로고스에 의해 존재하고 로고스는 영원히 타당하다”라고 말한다. 그에 따르면, 세상에 있는 모든 것이 로고스를 공유하므로, 세상의 존재하는 것들은 로고스에 의해서 통일성을 부여 받는다. 인간도 우주 세계의 일부이므로 로고스를 갖는 것으로 기대된다. 이 논문은 헤라클레이토스의 로고스 개념을 분석하고 인간 존재와 로고스의 관계를 고찰하고자 한다. 전반부에서는 모든 존재에 공통적인 로고스의 특성을 살펴보고, 인간이 어떤 근거에서 로고스에 접근 가능한지 고찰한다. 후반부에서는 로고스를 이해하는 방법이 인간에게 가능하다는 헤라클레이토스의 주장을 분석하고 행위에 대한 실천적 지혜로서의 로고스의 특성을 밝히고자 한다. 헤라클레이토스는 로고스에 주의를 기울이고 말과 행동을 통해서 스스로 로고스를 표현하도록 다그친다. 로고스는 우주 과정에서 작용하고 인간의 언어 속에서 드러난다. 인간은 우주 세계의 로고스를 경험할 수 있고 언어적 표현 속에서 이해할 수 있다. 이 논문은 로고스의 공통 특성에 대한 헤라클레이토스의 이해를 통해서 로고스와 인간과의 관계를 밝히고자 한다.

Heraclitus, in fragment 1, says that all things exist according to the logos1) and that the logos holds forever. Since everything owes its existence to the logos, it is operative in all things and is shared by all things. In this respect, everything in the world is connected by the logos. Thus, the logos gives unity to everything in the world. Since human beings are also a part of the cosmic world, they are expected to share the logos. The logos is accessible to human beings, for it is operative in all things. Heraclitus, in the same fragment, ridicules the foolishness of people who do not experience nor comprehend the logos, even though the logos reveals itself everywhere. Heraclitus asks people to listen to the logos and says that he himself expresses the logos through his words and deeds. According to this fragment, the logos is functioning in the cosmic process and is articulated in language. In this respect, human beings can experience the logos in the cosmic world and understand it in linguistic expression. This paper tires to find, through the understanding of the com m on character of the logos, the relationship between it and the hum an being.
