본 연구에서는 누리과정을 운영하고 있는 유아교사들의 이야기에 귀 기울이고자 13명의 유아교사들을 면담하였다. 유아교사들은 국가수준 교육과정의 당위성을 따르며 누리과정을 유아교육과정으로 동일시하며 반드시 실천해야 하는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 그러한 과정에서 누리과정지원금과 누리과정 CD는 유아교사들에게 반가운 존재이기도 하였지만, 과잉서비스의 함정에 빠지게 만들기도 하였다. 반면 유아교사들은 너무 빽빽하게 짜여져 있는 누리과정이 숙제같이 느껴진다고 이야기하며 기차시간표처럼 운영해야 하는 상황에 대한 어려움을 토로하였다. 또한, 형식적으로 작성되고 있는 교육계획안 작성에 대한 문제를 제기하며 유아의 흥미로 시작되는 교육과정이 되기 위해서는 다양한 변화가 필요하다고 주장하였다. 유아교사들은 유아를 위한 교육과정을 운영하기 위해서는 지금의 국가수준 교육과정이 대강화되고, 그들의 새로운 도전과 시도들을 지원할 수 있는 문화가 형성되어야 한다고 주장하였다. 또한, 유아교육과정에 대한 다양한 대화의 장에 참여하기를 희망하였다. 유아교사들이 전문성과 책임감을 가지고 교육과정을 운영할 수 있도록 다양한 지원의 필요성이 제기되었다.

In this study, we interviewed thirteen early childhood teachers running the Nuri curriculum to listen to their stories. Early childhood teachers recognized the need for Nuri curriculum as a national level curriculum and identified it as equally important to early childhood curriculum believing that it must be implemented. In this process, the Nuri curriculum subsidy and Nuri curriculum CD have been put into place as another control mechanism to make early childhood teachers follow the Nurri curriculum. However, early childhood teachers told us that following the Nuri curriculum which is too tightly planned feels like doing homework, and expressed difficulties in completing it like running a train schedule. Furthermore, they raised the issue of educational plans being prepared perfunctorily and claimed that various changes are required to design a curriculum that considers the children’s interest from the beginning. Early childhood teachers argued that the current state-level curriculum should be more flexible and a culture that supports teachers’ new attempts and challenges should be created for them to run a curriculum for children. They also hoped engage in various forums and debates on early childhood curriculum. The need for a range of support for early childhood teachers to run the curriculum with professionalism and accountability has been raised.
