본 연구의 목적은 기존 식기건조대의 문제점을 발견하고 사용자의 Needs와 Wants를 만족 시켜주는 새로운 식기 건조대를 디자인 개발하기 위한 연구이다. 연구 방법으로는 기존 시중에 판매되고 있는 식기 건조대와의 차별점을 둔 디자인을 제안하기 위해 이론적으로 기존 식기 건조대의 기초 조사와 분류 분석을 진행하고, 사용자 환경 조사와 관찰 조사를 진행하여 분석한 토대를 기준으로 컨셉 설정 후 디자인을 진행하였다. 기존 식기 건조대의 사용 분석 결과, 대표적인 문제점으로 공간 부족, 물 때 등이 대표적 문제점으로 이를 해결하기 위한 개선 방향으로 3가지 방안이 도출되었다. 첫째, 부식과 물 때에 대한 재질은 스테인리스 소재로 제작하여 부식과 물 때를 보완한다. 둘째, 공간의 문제점으로 수납공간의 부족은 다양한 부가적 거치대를 활용하고, 수저나컵 같은 작은 식기를 보관할 수 있는 공간을 만든다. 셋째, 사용자 환경마다 다른 공간의 문제점으로 1단과 2단의 분리 결합, 본체의 높낮이 조절, 크기 조절 등으로 보완한다. 이러한 개선 방향으로 공간 활용이라는 컨셉을 잡아 두 가지의 디자인 컨셉을 진행하여 기존 식기 건조대의 문제점을 해결하고 차별화된 새로운 식기 건조대 디자인을 제시한다.

The purpose of this study is to discover the problems of the existing tableware drying and to develop the design of a new tableware drying table that satisfies the needs and desires of the user. To propose a design that is different from the existing tableware dryer, the basic survey and classification analysis of the existing tableware drying stand were conducted theoretically, and the user environment survey and observation survey were conducted to establish the concept and design based on the analyzed foundation. Analysis on the use of existing tableware drying stand shows that three measures were derived as typical problems such as space shortage and water stain. First, materials for corrosion and water stain are made of stainless steel to complement corrosion and water stain. Second, the shortage of storage space as a problem of space makes use of a variety of additional bases, and makes room for storing small dishes such as soups and cups. Third, it is supplemented by the separation of 1st and 2nd layers, the height of the body, and the size adjustment due to the problems of different user environments. Taking the concept of space utilization in this direction of improvement, we proceed with two design concepts to solve the problems of the existing tableware drying table and present a differentiated new tableware drying table design.
