본 연구는 영유아교육기관에서 초임교사에게 요구되는 인성 및 전문성에 대한 경력교사와 예비교사의 인식 차이를 분석하여, 초임교사의 적응력 향상을 위한 방안의 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 영유아교육기관에서 근무 중인 경력교사 90명과 예비교사 108명이며, 초임교사의 인성과 전문성에 대한 설문 조사를 통계 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초임교사에게 요구되는 인성과 전문성의 하위 변인에 대한 경력교사와 예비교사의 중요도 인식은 대부분 일치하였다. 둘째, 경력교사와 예비교사는 초임교사에게 요구되는 인성 전체에 대해서는 통계학적인 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 전문성 전체에 대해서는 경력교사가 예비교사보다 초임교사에게 더 높은 수준을 요구하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 전체 경력교사와 예비교사가 초임교사에게 요구되는 인성과 전문성에 관한 하위 변인 간 차이를 분석한 결과, 대부분의 하위 변인에서 통계학적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 영유아교육현장에서 요구되는 바람직한 자질 형성에 있어서 인성과 전문성에 관한 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the perception of prospective teachers and experienced teachers about the personality and expertise required by primary teachers in kindergarten and provide basic data on how to improve the adaptability of beginning teachers. The subjects of this study were 90 experienced teachers and 108 pre-service early childhood teachers. The questionnaires about personality and professionalism were analyzed statistically. The results of the study were as follows. First, the importance of the sub-variables of personality and professionalism was mostly similar in experienced teachers and pre-early teachers. Second, there was no statistically significant difference between experienced teachers and pre-service teachers about the personality required of beginning teachers. However, it was found that experienced teachers demand higher level on beginning teacher’s professionalism than pre-service teachers. Third, there was a statistically significant difference in most sub-variables of personality and professionalism between experienced teacher and pre-service teacher. The results of this study are meaningful in that it provided basic data on the personality and professionalism of beginner teachers required in the field of early childhood education.
