본 연구는 집단미술치료가 지적장애 청소년의 자기표현에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위해 U시 A고등학교 내 특수학급에 재학 중인 지적장애 청소년들 가운데 부모 및 당사자가 본 연구 목적 및 프로그램 참여 동의서를 제출한 청소년들을 실험집단과 통제집단에 각 6명씩 배치하였다. 2017년 6월에서 2017년 8월까지 U시 A고등학교 내 방과 후 교실에서 실시하였다. 측정도구는 지적장애 청소년 대상에 맞게 재구성한 자기표현능력검사와 미술적 자기표현능력평가를 사용하였다. 본 프로그램은 총 12회기로 주 1회, 90분씩 진행하였으며, 자료처리는 비모수 검정을 통한 두 집단 간 동질성 검증을 실시했으며, 프로그램 효과를 살펴보기 위해 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정으로 집단의 사전・사후・추후 점수를 비교・분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 집단미술치료는 지적장애청소년의 자기표현능력에 긍정적 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단미술치료는 지적장애청소년의 미술적 자기표현에서 긍정적으로 나타났다. 따라서 집단미술치료가 지적장애청소년의 자기표현에 긍정적인 효과를 나타내는 것으로 볼 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of group art therapy on self-expression of adolescents with intellectual disabilities. In order to accomplish this purpose, the subjects of the study, students who had been attending the class for the intellectually disabled in A high school in U city and whose parents had submitted the agreement of participation for this study, were divided into an experimental group and a control group. This study was conducted in the after-school classroom in A high school from June 2017 to August 2017. The measuring instruments were the Self-Directed Assertiveness Scale and art self-expression ability evaluation which was restructured to suit the mentally handicapped youths. The group art therapy program was progressed for 90minutes once a week and consisted of total 12sessions. The homogeneity of two groups was verified by nonparametric statistical test. Moreover, pre, post and follow-up scores of the group were compared and analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test to investigate the effect of the program. Here are the results of the study. First, group art therapy was found to have a positive effect on the self-expression ability and sub-factors which are content element, phonetic element and behavior element of students who have intellectual disabilities. Second, group art therapy has been demonstrated that it has positive impacts on artistic expression about given topic, color, form and creativity. These results suggest that group art therapy has positive effects on self-expression of adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
