이 연구의 목적은 초등학생을 위한 경향성 지식 생성 능력 향상 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 적용하여 프로그램의 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 서울소재 초등학교 6학년 학생 12명이다. 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 정량적 검사와 안구 운동 분석을 바탕으로 학생들의 경향성 지식 생성 능력 변화를 알아보았다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경향성 지식 생성 학습 절차와 교사 발문을 구성하여 10차시의 경향성 지식 생성 교수·학습 과정안과 활동지를 개발하였다. 둘째, 프로그램을 투입한 결과 학생들의 경향성 지식 생성 능력이 향상되었다. 정량적 검사에서 학생들의 경향성 지식 생성 능력 지수 평균이 유의하게 증가하였다. 안구 운동 분석 결과, 프로그램 투입 후 경향성 지식 생성에 필요한 정보에 대한 평균 응시 시간, 도약이 유의하게 증가하였다. 열지도와 누적 시선 흐름 역시 학생들의 경향성 지식 생성 능력이 향상됨을 뒷받침한다. 연구 결과를 통해 프로그램이 초등학생의 경향성 지식 생성 능력 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있으며, 장기적이고 체계적인 경향성 지식 생성 교육의 필요성을 제언한다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a program to enhance the pattern-knowledge generation ability of elementary school students and verify the effectiveness of the program. Participants of this study were 12 elementary school students from 6th grade. To determine if enhancement of pattern-knowledge generation ability has been made after the program, this study compared the students’ pattern-knowledge ability quotient (PKQ) and the eye movement data obtained before and after the program. The results are as follows. First, A 10-session pattern-knowledge generation ability enhancement program was developed. Second, the pattern-knowledge generation ability of the participants was enhanced after the program. The average post-test PKQ value was bigger than the average pretest PKQ value. The analysis of eye movement shows that the average fixation time, saccade in necessary information increased after the program. The heatmap and scan path results also indicate an improvement of students’pattern-knowledge generation ability. According to this study, the program is effective in improving the pattern-knowledge generation ability of elementary school students.
