노년기 보행 장애는 신체의 노화에 따라 자연스럽게 발생하는 노인질환으로 많은 노인들이 보행 보조차를 사용한다. 하지만 기존의 노인 보행기는 손잡이를 잡고 앞으로 미는 형태로 보행기와 거리가 멀어지면 허리가 숙여지는 문제가 있어 안정적인 자세 유지를 돕지 못했다. 또한 2020년 65세 이상 고령층으로 진입하는 뉴 실버세대의 건강 관리에 관한 욕구가 반영되지 않았다. 본 디자인은 심박수, 체온, 보행거리, 시간 등을 측정할 수 있는 스마트 노인 보행기로 측정한 데이터를 통해 진료 및 건강 상태 파악 등이 가능해 보다 전문적인 건강관리를 돕는다. 또한 스마트폰과의 연동으로 응급상황을 대비 하도록 디자인했다.
