<도랑선비 청정각시>는 함경도 망묵굿 가운데 ‘도랑축원’에서 구송되는 무속신화로서, 남편의 갑작스런 죽음을 마주한 여인의 비극적 서사를 담고 있다. 그 서사는 ‘도랑선비, 청정각시의 결혼-도랑선비의 죽음-청정각시의 수난 중첩, 재회와 이별의 반복-청정각시의 죽음-도랑선비와의 재회-신으로의 좌정’으로 정리할 수 있으며, 이러한 서사적 흐름은 이승 공간에서 이승과 저승 사이의 경계 공간, 저승 공간으로 이동하며 전개된다. 그리고 이승 즉 현실 세계에 존재하는 대문과 고개는 삶의 현실 속에 죽음이 틈입되는 경계로 설정되며, 이를 도랑선비와 낭자의 결혼, 선비의 죽음이라는 사건과 연결 지음으로써 죽음이 삶과 무관하게 존재하는 것이 아니라 삶의 저편에 어딘가에 존재하고 있음을 보여준다. 한편, 각시의 수난이 반복, 증폭되는 묘, 안내산 금상절, 그리고 삶과 죽음의 갈림길로 형상화된 다리는 이승과 저승의 경계 공간으로서, 특히 이 공간에서 각시는 수많은 시련과 수난을 극복하고 이승과 저승 사이를 이어간다. 특히 그녀가 겪는 모진 시련과 고난은 ‘손’에 집중되며, 청정각시의 손에 의해 이승과 저승의 길이 열리고, 청정각시를 통해 이승과 저승이 하나의 세계로 연결된다. 이러한 점에서 <도랑선비 청정각시>는 이승과 저승의 경계 잇기의 서사라고도 부를 수 있을 것이다.

< Dorangseonbi and Chungjeonggaksi > is a shamanism mythology that is recited in ‘Dorangchukwon,’ as part of Mangmukgut in Hamgyeongdo. Its narrative centers around the tragedy of a delicate woman who faces sudden death of her husband. It can be summarized as ‘marriage between Dorangseonbi and Chungjeonggaksi - death of Dorangseonbi - continuous ordeal of Cheongjeonggaksi, repetition of reunion and parting - deification’. And, this narrative flow moves from the real world to the border between the real world and the other world, and then to after life. And the main door, and hill, which exist in the real world, i.e., this life, are described as a gap in reality through which death invades li fe, and, show that death does not exist apart from life but it is present in some part of life, by connecting the marriage of Dorangseonbi and Chungjeonggaksi and death of the seonbi. Meanwhile, the grave, which represents repeated ordeals of Gaksi, Geumsang temple in Mount Annae, and bridge, which symbolizes the crossroad of life and death, form a border between this life and the other world, where Gaksi overcomes many ordeals and challenges. The ordeals and challenges she experiences are especially concentrated on the ‘hands,’ and the path to this life and the other world is opened by the hands of Chungjeonggaksi, whose search for the path connects the two worlds in the end. In that respect, < Dorangseonbi and Chungjeonggaksi > is a narrative of drawing a border between the real world and the other world.
