The purpose of his study was to explore the difficulties of male early childhood teachers in relationships with children, parents, and fellow teachers. The participants of this study were four male early childhood teachers who have worked as full-time teachers in early childhood education institutions located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Gathered data were analyzed, based on the procedure comprised of open-coding, categorization and analysis (You, Ki-Woong, 2012). Results of the study show that male teachers have undergone the difficulty in terms of gender. First, male teachers had difficulty with their children regarding intimacy and touch. Second, they experienced difficulty regarding communication and stereotype of gender. Finally, the teachers went through trouble with empathy, association and labor. Therefore, the implications may serve as a foundation that can understand the difficulty of male teachers.
