The cylindrical-type porous pellets containing copper-manganese oxide catalyst were prepared by roller-dice extrusion method. The physical properties such as packing density, hardness, and porous parameters along with the gas removal performance were investigated depending upon the various process parameters such as silica fillers, binders, and processing parameters, etc. It was found that the newly prepared oxide catalyst-loaded pellet type granules exhibited excellent mechanical and physico-chemical properties; high pellet hardness (>6.0 kg/cm²), low packing density (<0.5 g/cm³), large pore volume (>0.80 cm³/g) and specific surface area (> 200 m²/g), respectively. It was also found that metal oxide based gas filter media (EXPOL) showed superior to microporous active carbon in the performance of odorous and hazardous gases removal.
