The rapid capacity degradation over a number of cycles due to the volume expansion of silicon remains a challenge. To further enhance the durability of Si-based electrodes, the linear poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) chain embedded in the polymeric network consisted poly(propylene glycol) bis(2-aminopropyl ether) (PPGDA) and poly(ethylene glycol) diglycidyl ether(PEGDE) was prepared according to the molecular weight of PPGDA. The mechanical property of the PEGDE-PPGDA/PVDF was improved by the formation of crosslinks, and the battery performance is affected by the improved mechanical strength. The mechanical property of the cross-linked gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) was confirmed by UTM. Furthermore, ionic conductivity, and capacity retention upon cycling were evaluated by EIS and galvanostatic charge/discharge. The developed GPE is effective suppression of the volume expansion of Si and can improve the cyclic performance of silicon anode.
