Polymer-based organic solar cells (PSCs) have attracted a great deal of interest as a promising energy resource because of their advantages such as low manufacturing cost and flexible device applications over inorganic solar cell. We synthesized donor-acceptor polymer containing indacenodithienothiophene, phenazine and quinoxaline through Stille coupling reaction. Phenazine derivatives are of particular interests as electron-withdrawing moieties due to the coplanar structure by connecting the two separated phenyl rings of phenyl-substituted quinoxaline derivatives with a single bond between the ortho positions. Quinoxaline derivatives can be easily structurally deformed because of their high solubility, and their electronic properties can be changed with various substituents. The photo-physical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties of the new polymers have been studied and compared.
