Existing CCS technology means process for CO2 capture, transportation and storage. The process of each step spends substantial energy for CO2 absorption and desorption by chemical and physical absorbent. However, leakage and harmful byproducts from reservoir is main obstacle of this technology. Therefore, biological conversion of CO2 is now receiving attention. Microalgae are one of the potential conversion agents. Also it is possible to produce bio-products for example biodiesel, carotenoids, proteins, biological active chemicals. BECCS facility integrates bio-energy production and CO2 treatment, but it is not commercial scale yet. Therefore, this study is carried out providing the fundamental data of LCA and economic feasibility for BECCS technology using microalgae.
