Host-guest chemistry is a promising discipline and has been applied in catalysis, medicine, and sensor. With the unique photophysical properties of porphyrin, porphyrin tweezer has been utilized as a molecular scaffold in host-guest chemistry. However, the difficult synthesis of chiral porphyrin tweezer has delayed the development of functional molecular tweezers capable of chiral discrimination, molecular recognition and asymmetric catalysis. Herein, we introduce a facile way to synthesize porphyrin receptor based on peptoid helix which can control porphyrins’ interaction by modulating helicity and distance. In addition, the metal of metalloporphyrin was varied using Zn and Cu. The host-guest effect between bis-(metalloporphyrin)-peptoid conjugates and nitrogen-containing guests was evaluated using UV-vis and CD spectroscopy. As a result, our experimental proceeding provides a useful molecular scaffold for sensing various small molecules.
