Donor-acceptor bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic photovoltaics (OPVs) have widely been studied in recent years. A great deal of research efforts have devoted to power conversion efficiency (PCE) enhancement, and incorporating a third component to form ternary BHJs is an efficient strategy to further improve the device performance. The ternary BHJ OPVs (t-OPVs) with the experimentally optimized ratios between components exhibit an increased PCE over conventional binary counterparts.
