Herein, Nitrogen doped Titanium dioxide (TiO2) based photocatalysts were synthesized by sol-gel method with solvothermal process. The prepared N-doped TiO2 were narrow size distribution and small average particle size (>10nm). The synthesized TiO2 samples showing very effective systems to extend the activating spectra to the visible range. The physicochemical properties of the photocatalysts were examined by XRD, N2 physisorption studies, TGA, SEM-EDAX, UVvisible DRS and HR-TEM. The XRD results revealed that through varying the reaction conditions. N-doped TiO2 crystals with different phase structure, morphology and crystallinity can be attained after calcination.
