Improved electrical and optical characteristics of PEDOT: PSS via acid solution-processed ultrafiltration

PEDOT:PSS is a promising next-generation transparent electrode material. PEDOT:PSS can be dispersed in water, so it can be easily utilized through solution processing. In this work, we adopted solution-processed method for enhancing electrical and optical properties of PEDOT:PSS solution. This process can be applicable to mass production and has possibility of application for materials of organic light emitting diodes industies. PEDOT:PSS was first synthesized by emulsion polymerization. Thereafter we designed solution-processed ultrafiltration with acid solution for enhancing electrical properties of PEDOT:PSS. Theses effect can cause PEDOT:PSS to highly conductive and transparency. Additionally the XPS, Raman spectra, Optical properties, AFM, UPS and electrical conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS were evaluated. As a result, the electrical conductivity of PEDOT:PSS was increased from 1100 to 1400 S/cm because of these dual effects of structural and chemical changes.
