In this thesis, we have analysed two of kukrit Pramoj`s major novels : Sipaendin and Red Bamboo, in order to Study his word of consciousness, Through the analys is of these novels and Kukrit Pramoj`s own aspirations in life, we come to the following conclusion that : As generally admitted, Kukrit pramoj`s in not only a superior but also a keen statement as well as a respected “man of the people” through his literary works as well as through his social life he has proved to be an expert in Thai history, tradition, arts, politics, and economics Through these three major novels, we can seize : The continuity of Thai people`s consciousness, seen through historical background. The root and the evolution of Buddhist sprit that grew from old days and will certainly continue to flourish The rooted traditional values that seem to overcome the influence of modern life. The persistence of Thai cultural characteristics in the shaping of the Thai national identity.
