The article entitled "The Social Status of Thai women in Thai Novels during 1930s and 1960s" is aimed to analyze the outstanding female characteristics as a daughter, a mother, a wife, and a working woman. For this research I've selected several Novels of 4 thai women novelists, Dokmaisod, M.L. Boonluea Thepsuwan, K. Surangkanang and Botan. From the middle of the year 1800s western influences caused much change in the thai society created many kind of female characteristics in Novels. Having received a modern education, the consciousness as woman and the consciousness of rights and social roles of Thai women have grown up, which have been reflected as novels. Those are the monogamy, the denial of marriage without love and remaining single, high education, social work and work for her family and for herself and so on. Through all ages and countries, the ideal status and role of women is a wise and good mother of all persons. These works has been influential to the current Thai novelists.
