본 연구의 목적은 이은봉의 첫 시집 『좋은 세상』에 나타난 민중 공동체의 모습과 노동시의 양상을 살펴보고 그 의미를 탐구하는 데 있다. 이은봉의 초기시는 1980년대 군부 독재정권에 대한 저항과 소외된 곳에서 어렵게 살아가는 민중 특히 노동자들의 목소리를 대변한다. 민중을 소외시키는 사회에 대해 저항하면서 어려운 환경 속에서도 배움에의 열망을 포기하지 않았던 노동자, 특히 여성노동자들의 삶을 위로하고자 한다. 이은봉은 문단에 나온 지 30년이 넘은 원로시인으로 현대 시사에 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 다년간의 작품 활동에 비해 1986년에 발간된 첫 시집에 대한 논의가 미비한 편이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 첫 시집인 『좋은 세상』만을 대상으로 하여 당시의 시대적 상황과 그의 시세계를 살펴보았다.

This study see out to examine the aspects of the people’s community and the patterns of labor literature in Lee Eun-Bong’s first collection of poems A Good World and investigate their meanings. Lee’s early poems depicted the people’s resistance against the military dictatorial government in the 1980s and represented the voice of the people leading a difficult life in an isolated place, especially the workers. In his poems, the poet tried to console the workers, especially women workers, that refused to give up their passion for learning even in a harsh environment while resisting the society that alienated the people. Lee is a veteran poet that started his literary career over 30 years ago, holding an important place in the history of modern poetry. Discussions about his first collection of poems published in 1986 have been poor compared with his creative activities over the many years. The present study examined the situations of those days and the poet’s poetic world, focusing only on his first collection of poems A Good World.
