This study aim is to identify the current status of dance education at universities in Gyeongsang Province and seek development as an ideal dance education at universities that has enhanced its qualitative capabilities. Therefore, the scope of research was limited to the present state of dance education at universities in South Gyeongsang Province. As an analysis target, the department of Dance Studies at Changwon National University and Gyeongsang National University, which represents dance education at Gyeongsang Province University, was selected and reviewed, and focused on this, draw up measures mentoring programs that connect dance contents to exploration and career counseling, strengthening field research programs based on special characteristics in Gyeongsang-do, and leading the study through the highly academic self-education processes based on the cooperative and shared foundation. Given the reality of what is called the ‘crisis of University Dance Education’ dance education in Gyeongnam requires understanding the needs of society and the environment in order for universities to compete themselves and understanding the need for reliable policy structure and support. To enable dance professionals who grow up through college dance education to express their own individuality and creativity and to establish and develop an independent art sphere, an aggressive shift in education, policy and support is needed.
