본 연구는 아동양육시설에 거주하는 시설아동의 권리 수준을 조사하였다. 본 연구는 전국 23개 양육시설에서 1,001명 아동을 층화표집하였다. 설문조사는 구조화된 질문지를 사용하여 아동의 생존권, 보호권, 발달권, 참여권 수준을 파악하기 위해 자기기입식으로 수행되었다. 본 연구결과 아동의 권리 인식수준은 상대적으로 낮았으며, 일부 양육시설에서 아동의 보호권이 침해된 것으로 나타났다. 아동양육시설에 거주하는 아동의 권리 증진을 위해 정책적 개입방안을 제안하였다.

This study explored the level of children's rights who are living in the child-caring institution. For the study 1,001 children were recruited from the 23 child-caring institutions by quota sampling. Structured instruments were used for data collection and the questionnaires included the children's rights of survival, development, protection, and participation as well as the awareness of child rights. Study verified that children's rights were not totally respected and protected in some situations and the level of awareness of the child rights were relatively low. Social interventions to improve children's rights living in child-caring institution were suggested based on study results.
