This research aimed to discover the relationships between middle school students' idolization toward the idolstar and body image. It investigated the differences of idolization and body image according to gender, and also aimed to verify the two factors' relationship and influence. Total 401 middle school students participated as subjects and scale developed by Rawin, Bar-Tal, and Ben was used to measure the idolization, and Cash's MBSRQ to measure the body image. The data was analyzed by t-test, correlation analysis, and multi-regression analysis. The results were as followed. First, it showed that there was a gender differences between fanship indirectness behavior, fanship direct behavior, and imitation. In the case of body image, only appearance valuation showed difference. Second, it was also found that there was a partly positive and negative relationship in the sub factor of idolization and body image. Lastly, it showed that the sub factors of idolization partly affected on the body image's sub factors. These results were compared and discussed in relation to the advanced research of idolization and body image.
