본 연구는 유아와 초등학생의 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 부모효율성훈련이 양육태도와 행복감에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 고든(Gorden)의 부모교육 프로그램의 이론과 선행연구를 근거하여 개발한 부모효율성훈련 프로그램을 경상북도 P시에서 12명의 어머니를 대상으로 실시하였고, 사전, 중간, 사후 검사를 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 부모효율성훈련이 어머니의 부정적 양육태도인 거부적 양육태도와 통제적 양육태도는 감소하였고, 긍정적이고 바람직한 애정적 양육태도와 자율적 양육태도는 증가하였다. 둘째, 부모효율성훈련이 어머니의 행복감에 미치는 영향은 유의미한 결과가 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 양육태도와 행복감의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 사전검사에는 어머니의 양육태도와 행복감은 통제적 양육태도가 높을수록 행복감도 높아지는 상관관계가 나타났다. 그리고 중간 검사에는 어머니의 양육태도와 행복감의 상관관계는 관련성이 없었고, 사후 검사에는 어머니의 양육태도와 행복감의 상관관계는 자율적 양육태도가 높을수록 행복감도 높아진다는 결론을 얻었다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of parent effectiveness training on parenting behaviors and happiness of mothers having infants and elementary school student children. To get answers, parent effectiveness training developed on the basis of theory and precedent study of Gorden’s parent education program was applied to 12 mothers in P city, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and analyzed through preliminary, intermediate, and post test. This study results are as follows. First, parent effectiveness training is effective in reducing mother’s rejective and controlling parenting behaviors which are negative, and in increasing affectionate and self-regulating parenting behaviors which are positive and desirable. Second, this study shows that the effects of parent effectiveness training on mother’s happiness are significant. Third, when it comes to the correlation of mother’s happiness with parenting behavior, the study shows that the higher scale of controlling parenting behaviors leads to the higher scale of mother’s happiness in preliminary test. In intermediate test, there’s no correlation between mother’s parenting behavior and happiness, and the higher scale of self-regulating parenting behaviors leads to the higher scale of mother’s happiness in post test.
