본 연구는 다문화가정 아동이 보다 긍정적인 자아개념을 형성하여 건강한 사회 구성원으로 성장 할 수 있는 지지체계 방안을 제안하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 다문화가정아동의 사회적 지지와 또래관계가 자아개념에 영향을 미치는 직접경로 및 사회적 지지와 자아개념 간의 관계에서 또래관계를 매개한 간접경로를 가정한 부분매개모형을 설정하였다. 연구대상자는 전라남도에 거주하는 다문화가정 아동 중 4∼6학년 총 177명으로 이들로부터 수집한 자료 중 분석 가능한 170부를 SPSS18.0과 AMOS 7.0을 이용하여 분석을 하였다. 연구모형 검증을 위하여 확인적 요인분석으로 적합도를 분석한 결과, 모두 적합도 기준을 만족시키는데 무리가 없어 모형이 적합한 것으로 해석되었다. 매개효과 검증을 위한 구조방정식 분석결과 사회적 지지에서 또래관계로 가는 경로와 또래관계에서 자아개념으로 가는 경로가 유의미하게 나타나 자아개념 형성을 위해서는 또래관계와 사회적 지지가 동시에 고려되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 이에 다문화가정아동의 긍정적인 자아개념 형성을 위하여 또래관계를 도울 수 있는 사회적 지지가 강화되어야 함을 제언하였다.

This study is to suggest a plan of support system for children from multi-cultural families to establish more positive self concept and to grow as healthy members of the society. For the sake of this, a partial mediated model was postulated assuming a direct path that social support for the children from multi-cultural families and peer relationship affect self concept, and an indirect path mediating peer relationship in relation to social support and self concept. The research subjects were 177 students ranging from 4th to 6th graders among the children from multicultural families residing in Jeollanam-do province and the 170 analyzable data collected from 177 children were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 7.0. As a result of analyzing goodness of fit as a confirmatory factor analysis in oder to verify the research model, the research model was interpreted to be suitable as the data were all moderate to satisfy the goodness of fit. The result of the structural equation analysis for verifying the mediated model showed that the path to the peer relationship in the social support and the path to the self concept in the peer relationship appeared to be significant, so the researcher concluded that the peer relationship and the social support should be simultaneously considered for the self concept formation. Therefore, the social support which is able to assist peer relationship should be reinforced to help children from multi-cultural families form a positive self concept.
